Yep. It doesn't mean we get hit by every hurricane, but the stronger ones usually result in tail-end storms here. The south west of Ireland is usually worst hit, which makes sense geographically.

Nope, we don't. Our storms consist of high winds and heavy rain, but tornadoes are extremely rare. The strongest tornado ever to occur in Ireland was an F2 which ripped through Limerick some time in the 20th century. We actually get the tail end of hurricanes which hit the east coast or the southern US sometimes. It happened during Katrina. Yeah, it was pretty cool! I only got the chance because my grandfather captained the club many years back, so I was prioritised.
