- Hey! I'm Jen and I am 24 years old. I know, I know, I'm not a teen. I used to be a member on here and at one point I was a buddy then advanced to a mentor for awhile. I haven't been on here in probably 2+ years. I came back for help with a couple things and also because I want to help again. Most of the issues I sought help for in the past have since been resolved for the better so I'd like to share experience and hope from someone who has been through a lot and made it out the other end.
I am the happiest I have ever been. I recently got engaged to my best friend and I moved to a 31 acre farm where I have several animals (6 dogs, 6 cats, 1 rabbit, 2 goats, 2 horses, and 2 mice. Soon I will be getting 2 donkeys, 1 or 2 more horses, and at least 1 pig). If anyone remembers me (I was thegirlnextdoor89) you may remember that I'm a huge animal lover.
In addition to spending time with my animals, my fiancé, and my family, I like to listen to music, go online, watch tv, and take pictures of anything and everything.
If anyone needs someone to talk to, I'm always up for a chat, just send me a PM! Chances are I've been through a similar issue and I will do my best to help!
I've been through depression and mental illness (Currently just diagnosed as Bipolar, but struggled for years with Bipolar, PTSD, OCD, and anxiety), I had an eating disorder, I experienced the death of a family member (my brother passed away when I was 15), I have been hospitalized for suicide attempts and self harming, I was abused growing up, I struggled with drugs, and currently struggle with alcohol.
Really the only issues I still struggle with is my alcoholism and past abuse.
I was one of those people who seriously believed my issues and struggles would be the death of me. I thought that anyone who told me different was lying. But now I know they were right! And I want to help others make it through like I have. :)
