Lol, it's hard to get a top-down photo as required, but easier than the string method .
And I just saw the pics of your other pets you posted(I'm totally not stalking you, honest >.> ), and I just have to say, you have awesome pets ^^. And a retic..nice. Are they really as intelligent as people say? And how big is he? Also what's it like having such a huge snake? And apologies for barraging you with questions :x

hehe, I actually have a way to do it. Well, found a way rather. There's this program, can't remember where, but just google 'snake measuring program' and you'll get it. Take a photo of a close to a birds eye view as possible, import the image in, draw a line along the snake, and that's you. It's quite good.
She's just approaching three feet long though, in answer to your question =).

I've got my year and a half old corn snake, there's pics of her on my albums in my profile, though the most recent one is the one on the cover, which doesn't really show how much she's grown. She moves about too much to make taking photos easy ^^;

Ahh, yeah, I remember reading somewhere carpets can be a bit on the aggressive side. She looks beautiful though ^^. I wish I had the space for a larger snake. I really want either a carpet or a common boa, but I just don't have the space for a viv such a snake would require. Also, I think my flatmate would draw the line at keeping frozen rats, hence frozen bunnies would out of the question ^^;

I know I've been bugging you for pics of your pets for aages, but I make no apologies since I just saw you have a carpet python, and I love them ^_^. Such beautiful snakes. It's ashame to hear what happened to your's though =(.
