I don't believe in supporting your country no matter what, either. But we're lucky; in our country, you can speak out against the nation, it's people, our government. In many ways I do feel blessed to live here. I mostly wish we could be proud of how we behave, rather than because of what a bunch of papers say we stand for. I agree with what you say about equality, too.

I really try my best not to worry about anything. Sometimes, I get these thoughts that he's going to treat me the same way my abusive boyfriend treated me. He said that he would never hurt me in any way. I can tell he loves me because he cares about me and he shows me that he really loves me. I don't want to rush into anything. I just want to take thing slow. I don't want us to be engaged right now. I just wanted to know if it would happen. No one messes with me anymore because I don't take people's shit anymore and my boyfriend won't let anyone bully me

I asked him if he was ever going to propose to me, and he told that if everything goes the way it's suppose to, it could happen. I just felt really stupid for asking that. It's bad enough that he bought me a silver necklace and got my car fixed for my birthday. I just want our relationship to last this time. I don't want anything getting in the way of that happening

Haha, thanks! I do try to distinguish between pride in my country and pride in my countrymen. I have faith in, and do feel proud of, what America stands for. In recent years, however, I can't say I'm overwhelmingly proud of our actions and inactions.

So I guess I should say "I'm not proud of America" instead of "I'm not proud to be an American", but I'm not sure how much the distinction really matters (to me or to others). Our citizens represent our country, and so what we do as a people is much more important than what we (supposedly) stand for as a country.

No need to be sorry honey. I'm not depressed at all. I'm just upset because I think something is going to come between our relationship. We're trying to stay together this time. He's a really sweet guy. I know I asked him a question that made me cry. I feel stupid for asking it

I sat around my house all day and did nothing. I was talking to my boyfriend for a while, but he had to go to band practice. I'm kind of stressed out because it doesn't seem like I'm the right girl for him and I'm stressed about other things. So, I'm not doing very well now
