Well the first time, my brother was there for almost two weeks. The second time he was there for like 5 days. However, where he stayed he wasn't allowed to call anyone. He was allowed visitors, those who he wanted to visit, we were put on a special list to see him.

I guess they will keep him in there as long as he needs to be. My ex, before we started dating, was cutting, and he OD on some pain killers (because he broke his hand when he got angry by hitting a pole and he just had surgery on it) well he was went to the hospital on suicide watch and was only there for 3 days. But it definitely depends on the severity I believe.

I would call his mum, she might feel a bit broken by her son's actions, I'm not sure of their bond, but if you feel comfortable, I don't see any harm in calling to find out how he is. If not, I guess you could try to visit at the hospital, every one is different, so see if you can visit. I'm sure he would like that.

Ah, Manhattan. I've never actually been there, but I'm sure it was lovely.

Sorry for this response being late, my mum and I got in a row and things have been crazy in my life the past week.

I'm sorry to hear about that. It's a hard thing to deal with, but the good thing to keep in mind is that he is getting the help he deserves and there is nothing wrong with that. When will he be out? I know when my bother was emitted into the hospital he was allowed to have visitors, can he do that?
I definitely understand how you'll miss him. My brother was emitted twice, it's hard to deal with.

You shouldnt be locked up for it! you just slipped up a little it happens, its bound to really you did really well for getting as far as 11 days and you should be proud. just pick yourself up and try again. I'm really glad you had a good time in NY, what did you get up too?
