- About me
- I'm a single mom of a teen son. I like to help other people and am considered pretty open minded. I try to respect the choices and beliefs of others regardless of my own opinions or beliefs and offer advice based on that respect. I have always been taught by the Episcopal Church to not judge others, for I too will be judged that way when the Day of Judgment is here. I've also kind of one by the theory that if "your child is old enough to ask, they're old enough to know", although I don't generally answer more than he asks. He'll ask for more details as he needs them. This has always worked well for us, anyway. He isn't afraid to ask me about anything and everything, though it might be more personal than I want to hear as his mom. Lol. I still don't avoid talking with him about whatever he wants or needs to talk about, though. If it's not me, it'll be someone else and at least I can be sure he has the most accurate info I can give him.

- Music
- Varies and depends on my mood and latest music phase. Latest groups I've been listening to include Muse, Creed, Nickelback, Linkin Park, Saving Jane, Rush, 3 Doors Down, Violent Femmes, White Lion, Breaking Benjamin, Matchbox 20, The Fray, and various others of different genres. Then, there's my singer/songwriter friends Tony Diana and Steph Carse who both support my favorite cause. Another friend of mine that I help at work is also a singer/songwriter, mostly rap. Of course I also like listening to my Songs For Worship CD and my three Wow Worship CD's. Then there's always songs by Kelley Clarkson, Taylor Swift, 69 Boyz, Beyonce, Avril Lavigne, Breakin Benjamin, Ray Stevens, Carrie Underwood, and various others.
- Movies
- Comedies, cartoons (like Disney), action-adventure, and once in a blue moon I might like a chick flick or drama if I'm in the mood. Not really into Sci-Fi, though. My son and I are really into Harry Potter and Twilight, and just finished watching Hitch and UP.
- Television
- Bones, ER, Grey's Anatomy, House, Medium, NCIS, Numb3rs, Saturday Night Live, Power Rangers (the new one, not the others), Simpsons, Family Guy, Monster Trucks, Unique Whips, The Mentalist, Jay Leno, Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon, The View, Doctors, and others I can't think of right now.
- Books
- Mostly the same as movies, except I don't really like drama or sappy or sci-fi.
- Sports
- Soccer and Ice Hockey, though I haven't much time to watch and don't like watching games on TV. Did watch my son play Soccer and Baseball one year.
- Heroes
- Those who have survived through a disaster. Those who have assisted others during and after disasters with response and recovery.
- Favorite quotes
- "Squirrel. . ."
--UP! (You'd have to see it to understand why I think this is funny)
"Don't go in the pimped out fridge Jack. . ."
-- Race to Witch Mountain
"Don't make me light my butt. . ."
-- Princess and the Frog
"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much."
-- Mother Teresa (1910 - 1997)
"Remember this. When people choose to withdraw far from a fire, the fire continues to give warmth, but they grow cold. When people choose to withdraw far from light, the light continues to be bright in itself but they are in darkness. This is also the case when people withdraw from God."
-- Augustine
Step with care and great tact; And remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act; Just never forget to be dexterous and deft; And never mix up your right foot with your left.
-- Dr. Seuss (1904 - 1991), Oh, the Places You'll Go
"Always forgive your enemies - Nothing annoys them so much."
-- Oscar Wilde - Other interests
- Reading, walking on moonlit beach (someday when I'm walking for real again), helping others, learning random things on the web, raising and spending time with my son, spending time with the rest of the family, and I'm sure there's more I just can't think of right now.
