- Sometimes when you take up a sword to fight your demons off
you forget about the angels who are holding you aloft.
You hack an angel's wings off as you're stabbing at the heart;
for every demon conquered, an angel's torn apart.
And even as they're dying, those angels still will sing
as they hold themselves up clumsily on tattered broken wings
because they have pledged to save you, no matter what the cost
and they will keep on holding you until it all is lost.
