- Hello! I am a student at UW Madison majoring in Chemistry and Mathematics. I want to go to Grad school and maybe even be a professor at a university. I found this website back in 2003 through yellowribbon.com when a lot of things weren't going right in my life and I was really unhappy.
I survived: rape, my parents getting divorced, being bullied, 2 suicide attempts and a severely broken heart- back in the day, the people here helped me get through a lot.
I found happiness through: math, friends, my teachers/mentors.
I guess the most important lessons I learned during that period was
1.) That no matter how bad things are when you are younger, they will get better as you grow older. It's a big world out there, and there's going to be someone who will understand you, so you are never really completely alone.
2.) Even though it is difficult to do, you need to realize that you are in the driver's seat of your own life. You control where you go, how you feel, what you do with your life. As Elenor Roosevelt once said "Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent."
