In addition to my last message...HOW DID YOUR MEET GO? *is super excited*
I have my meet the day after tomorrow and I am very, very nervous.

I think my team is division five. We're a pretty small school. Although I heard that we might get moved up to division four next year because we'll have probably 200 more people.
I feel like a hamster too when I run on the track. Anything beats the treadmill (DREADMILL) though haha. My mom is always trying to get me to run on the treadmill when the weather's bad and I'm just like, Mom, I cannot! I'll die of boredom.
You'll do great, don't worry! I was so nervous before the first meet that I felt sick, and in the end it was all for nothing. It's even easier for us distance runners because we don't have to worry about lanes or starting blocks and the start is slower.
I wouldn't want to miss it either, but if you think that running could make your hip worse, you might want to think about talking to your coaches? You could still go and cheer on your teammates.
I miss xc races too! I always liked how there were like 100 people running instead of 8 or 12 like in track. There was less pressure. What were your xc times?

Thanks. I was last in both of my races haha, but since I was sick I'm giving myself some slack. My next meet is on the 13th, and I would reeeaaalllyyy like to PR in the 1600 (my PR is 7:25 right now) and go sub-16:00 for the 3200.
I'm guessing you had practice at the complex today, so how'd it go?
I LOVE distance runs! I went on this awesome trail run on Sunday on this gorgeous trail a few minutes from my house, and I just felt great the whole time. I love runs like that, where you just feel amazing. I ended up running about five miles, I think.
Good luck at your meet! You'll do AWESOME. And since you don't know your times yet, you'll PR no matter what. The middle schoolers on my team have their first meet on Tuesday also, and the high schoolers get to go and watch and cheer for them and stuff, so that'll be fun. And then there's a high school meet on the 13th. It's more than a week away and I'm already nervous.
There aren't a lot of people at my school running the 3200. I'm actually the only female frosh/soph distance runner altogether. I think there are four-ish people who run the 3200? Me, an eighth grade girl, and two juniors... We have mostly sprinters/mid-distance and like six or eight distance runners.

My 3200 time was 16:44 and my 1600 time was 7:30. Eh, not my best times. But at least it gives me pretty easy times to beat at the next meet. Do you have any idea what your times might be?
Oh no. I hope they fix that athletic complex soon haha. That must suck. The hand-offs aren't that hard though. I tried them once in practice, and the hardest part is just doing it fast. You have to be really in sync with your other team members when you do the hand offs. It's not complicated or anything though.
I know! I feel like I'm friends with practically everyone on the team and they're all so nice. Runners are nice in general. It's great. And I loooovvveee that feeling after a distance run, like you've just done something awesome.
My spring break started last weekend and I go back on Tuesday. Almost over!

Hey, I just ran in my first track meet last Saturday (the 16th)! I was sick, so that really sucked and I didn't do well, but it was fun. I ran pretty much the same events as you're doing, except my team dropped the relay, so I just did the 3200 and 1600. I was sooooo nervous, I wanted to throw up on my coach haha, and he was trying to calm me down and I was just like, I. CANNOT. DO. THIS. HELP ME. (I survived, though.) And the actual races were nowhere near as nerve-wracking as I'd expected. The 3200 and 1600 are basically just like cross country races, except they're a lot faster and on a track. So yeah, now I'm totally excited about the next meet! You should let me know how yours goes!
I know, right? School was kinda blah before I started doing cross country/track/running club and stuff, and now I LOVE school. I literally hate weekends, I'm not even kidding. I basically look forward to practice all day and feel amazing afterwards. And one of my coaches is my teacher for 2 classes and the other was my teacher last year, and I see people on the team all day, so it's almost like track is a part of school all day long. It's awesome.
Sorry, rambling. Do you have spring break soon?

Aaahh, lucky! I'm gonna be so happy next year when all the 8th graders on my team (we have a lot) are freshmen and we have a humongous frosh/soph girls team, especially for cross country.
BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER. How old are you turning?
And oh my gosh, I just found out today that my coach signed me up for the 3200, AND the 1600, AND the 4 x 4 relay at the first meet. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. FREAKING. OUT. I had been hoping to just run the 1600, but apparently my coach has other plans. :O I'm so scared!

Oh, cool! My school is small too, so I know what you mean. I was the ONLY frosh/soph girl on the team during cross country, so I ran my races all alone. Right now there's one other frosh/soph girl on the track team, but she runs 400/800 so we won't be racing together anyway.
And my first meet is on the 16th! I am sooooo nervous.

Hmm, I'm not really sure? I kinda hate setting time goals because it sucks when I don't reach them. And I'm not that fast, so they're never very impressive. Something in the 6's would be nice though. So I take it you've done track before? It's my first season haha.

Awesomesauce. I'm pretty sure now that I'm gonna run the mile. YAY FOR DISTANCE RUNNERS!
Do you have any time goals?
