    Yep. I can sympathize, even if I don't know/understand your situation completely. But you're strong. If you can go without it for seven months, you must be incredibly strong and incredibly brave. Just don't forget that it doesn't own you, and that you're stronger than it.

    Self-harm isn't failure. It's not a positive thing, I know this personally. I remember when I was 13 and someone told me that it would just get worse, deeper and harder to treat, that it would take over my life. I laughed it off, of course it wouldn't, it would never go that far, this was only to get me through this hard bit right now. Well I was wrong. I self-harmed for 8 years+. Have had hospital admissions, had the 'Shit, it wont stop bleeding' moment far too many times, had too many times when I've promised myself that I will never go that bad again to break that promise within the week. I would be more positive if you found a better way too cope now, then to get to 19/20 and it still be the way you cope. To have to wear long-sleeves all year, no matter how hot it gets, to never feel 'okay' going swimming, shopping becomes a hellish chore because it isn't things you like anymore but things that will cover certain areas and certain colours that wont be stained by the blood. I wish someone had said this to me. Not that it would get worse, because I never imagined I could do that, but that I wouldn't get to enjoy life anymore. Because I'd either be thinking about self-harming, or doing it. Plus. The longer you do it, the harder it is to stop. I was trying to cope so I was still alive to live my life, but it only succeeded over time to give me more reasons to be dead.
