Oh I know, I just figure if like if I was to visit Germany and I came off as a negative stereotype I'd just be classified as another American. Sadly though, most of those stereotypes about the US are true

Actually it's pretty hard to avoid fitting the stereotypes, because they are so much about the people who have them. That list tells you so much more about Germans than about Americans, e.g.
*Germans are honest to the point of bluntness
*Germans care about Politics
* Germans get insecure in the face of open patriotism
....

Oh no that was just fine. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, I was just curious as to what some widely accepted stereotypes of the US are.

Anyways, thanks for the list, haha. I just needed to know what not to seem like in order to prove the stereotype wrong if I ever go out of the country.

I don't quite remember what I wrote in that post, but... here a few general things. Note that this is *not* my personal opinion.
* Americans lie in order to be polite. When they are really friendly when you meet them, they often don't mean it.
* Americans don't care about international politics. Some of them don't even care about their own politics, but they are all patriotic.
* American patriotism is scary.
* American Schools are all like the one in "High School Musical"
*All Americans live in Suburbs, which look like that street in "Desperate Housewives"
* They are great tourists, but they don't travel much. y The ones who come to Europe are very easily amazed, especially, if they see stuff older than a few hundred years.
* They are prudes, at least in public.
* No one knows how on earth any American can afford going to college
*they really don't care about the environment
*there are no Native Americans
* They never ride their bikes
* if they are not from the East Coast or California, they wear those funny hats and listen to country.
* Lots of people are in the military. So many, that there are TV shows about US military.
* Lots of secret services
* they are generally friendly people
* they can drink (if they are allowed)
* their religion is likely to be ... weird.

Oh, what I meant when you had said German stereotypes I meant the stereotypes that the German's had of Americans. Sorry about that, I'm not sure what I was on when I replied and let that error slip by.

Hm... ok. I'll just tell you some general things about Germany and the Germans and what I think about them. Please note that this is *not* about individual people.

Germany has, like the US, federal states, but I think that the federal government is much more important here. Our President has almost no political power, even though he's head of state. The most powerful politician in Germany is the Chancellor (Kanzler), right
