Thanks for the help with the essay. It really made me feel accomplished to hear, who I think to be, the best critic on this site start off by saying that it was good.

Exactly, but like I said it stops being a debate and more of them giving reasons why it's not good music because they don't like it. For some reason I have a pet peeve of people being really obnoxous and thick-headed when it comes to music. I mean there's a difference between a band being horrible and a band not being your certain taste and when someone decides to insult them and their fans because it's not exactly 'their taste' then it ignites something in me.

Well, it's nice when people give their opinions on music and stick to their opinions but people have to realize that it's a subjective definition rather than a factual, carved in stone one.

Oh of course. Music is religion to some people. And it always makes me crack up to see "It's not real metal because I don't like it".

It's usually pretty amusing to watch it, although I do get a chuckle whenever I read some of their posts.

Oh it's going to be fun watching a veteran debater go against a thick-headed music enthusiast in that Slipknot vs. BFMV thread.

I'll try to chip in if I feel informed enough on the topic to not make a fool of myself or just talk myself into a corner.

I have to say, I always enjoy seeing threads which you've posted on just for the sake of seeing you debate with someone (most, if not all of which you have won hands-down).
