Hey im so sorry Ive took so long to reply things have been so hectic -.- so before I go into the dr who discussion how are you? Hows life treating you at the moment? . Ok well you may think im just agreeing with you but most thibgs you said I felt the sane way about. I was disappointed with matt smith to be honest, before he was picked I saw him in 'the ruby in the smoke' so when I saw he was an option I was hoping hed get picked, but now he has he has annoyed me and only now am I beginning to stand him. He would never compare to david no matter what but him and the fact the 'modern' version of doctor who im not really impressed with - you're right about the monsters they dont seem so scary and dont get me started on Amy her screaming and crying winds me up- sorry I do seem to be easily irritated wow didnt know about the budget cuts but you csn kind of guess how everythings turned CGI - no more explosions or monster costumes, oh and youre completely right the scripts are predictable. Oh ive also got to admit I love river song and find Rory funny im so glad river is included. David was definately the best doctor in my opinion - he could portray all of the emotions and could be taken seriously at times too- which I find difficult to do with Matt. I agree the scripts could be better- I mean I know I just said so many bad things about Matt but to be fair he can be funny at times and adds a little more lighthearted humour so all the family can watch. To be honest im probably just scared of the change of new tardis, sonic screwdriver etc maybe I just need to move with the times so yes stopping the daleks mixed with childish humour would be amazing- even though I never said I love immaturity so it could be made really entertaining. Ok last rant I swear! I was completely dissapointed with the Christmas episode I mean what was that?! I dont think it was remotely possible to be scared, such a let down when youve waited all year for that one episode and it turns out like that- plus the previous ones were so good! I mean they got kylie minogue for gods sake doesnt that show its supposed to be a special episode. Sorry about my doctor who ranting! I could honestly talk about doctor who all day Hopefully youl still remember me after my very long reply time- memory jogger im the fellow doctor who geek

I was largely unimpressed with the new series, Matt Smith is alright, and Amy can be funny, but they both get kind of annoying at times, that's where you wish for David Tennant to pop out with some witty anti-monster humour and some intelligence. To me, it really gives the impression that the show is becoming a wee bit on the childish side. 3/4 of the 'monsters' aren't even scary, and you can tell when the ratings are going down... how?, well the next few episodes just happen to feature Daleks lol. IIRC the new series also had some budget cuts to work with, all over imo the script was pretty boring and predictable. The best thing to happen to the series was River Song but even that got confusing at times.
I think the best series was with David, simply the best... So don't get me wrong, nothing really wrong with the new cast, but I think the script really needs to compliment the actors better, as Matt Smith can't really be serious all the time and is a bit childish as the character, but why can't he be childish... and trying to stop the Daleks? I mean that would be pretty good, these days he just gets really serious and seems utterly fed up when he meets foes he has already defeated like 15 times, though I suppose I would be too haha.
But really, this new series is like a stark contrast to older series and casts. And my god was the Christmas episode bad? :O The 2008 Cyber King Christmas episode (The Next Doctor) was so much better, then we had the Voyage of the Damned on the Titanic and "The End of Time" where the timelords returned, then we get that piece of crap, The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe... <.<

ooh youve got a fair point there cant stand screamo either- should definately not count. Wow I didnt even realised it aired here in August, thats a bit of a strange time isnt it? I mean their normally at easter or christmas but skipped Easter so its all a little strange- maybe has to do with the new writer? Anyway thanks for telling me I dont have to wait all the way till Christmas anymore xD Awe that sucks that you cant see until late September, on the plus side you have a longer build up time to get excited I guess il just stick to repeats for now- which is weird how I just read this and am watching one right now haha. What do you think of this new series btw? and how are you liking the new (well guess hes not so new anymore) Doctor and Amy? Im really intrigued to know what the fans think of them

I'm patiently waiting for the next series, which aires in the UK during August which means I probably won't get to see it on the ABC till late September.
