I know, it's unrealistic. But it'd probably work better than the pothole the government's currently going down.

    Can't see that happening somehow...

I think the AV was the closest Nick Clegg got to having a say in running the country and look how well that one went.
I really think the government needs to just start over. New parties. New politicians. Fresh start and try again.

I'm ashamed to say I supported it at first. I thought the Lib Dems could moderate the Tories and win a few policies of their own. Apparently not.

    -_-

True. I've been against this coalition from the start. You just can't have parties with different ideas working together successfully. All I can see is David Cameron with a sidekick.

The counting's a bit more complicated, true, and it'd take a bit more time. But other countries seem to manage with complex systems, and I'm sure we could do the same. Might be interesting to see what all this does to the coalition, though. Should rile up some of the Lib Dems.

When I say complicated I mean how it's all counted up by going to second and third choices. Sounds way too confusing and easy to mess up.
But yes, annoying the Tories would make it all worth it.

It's no more complicated than ranking your top three (or five, or ten, or whatever) candidates. You're right that it wouldn't have fixed much, though. I mainly wanted it to pass in order to annoy the Tories.

I thought it was a bad thing anyway. It sounded so complicated and everything. I know FPTP is hardly democratic but at least it's a simple way to understand how it works. Either way, people who the majority of people likely don't want in will be elected.

Yeah, exactly. So no electoral reform for us for the next 50 years at least.
