Like Portishead you say? Well I've only tried one track and I can't even remember which one So I'll listen to it tomorrow - I'm having a doom metal day today...

No I think it's definitely taking Trent's talent to a new level. Sure it will never be as gut-wrenching as the musical diaries of a soul lost in depression, but it's all that was good musically about NIN with a damn good singer. Like a more modern Portishead.

I can see hardcore fans acting all pissy but HEY! Good music is good right?

People seem very split on whether 'How to destroy angels' is actually any good - some don't like Trent's wifey and thinks he's just trying to pleasssse her lol

I haven't heard much of How To Destroy Angels. I would definitely get it if I found it *cough cough*

Hopefully they change how they teach religion in schools, at least we have RE unlike countries like France. I only ever did Christianity, Judaism, and Hinduism interestingly. You would have thought that with Islam being in the media so much, it would be foundational in religious education.
It's interesting to note that a recent study by an American University (sry I can't remember by who ) came to the conclusion that the Bible is a more violent book compared to the Koran. I would certainly rather face Jihad (Jihad however is really meant to be a struggle - higher Jihad is a battle within oneself), than holy war described in the Bible. The Koran bans the killing of children and women, whilst the Bible glorifies it. Though the whole idea of holy war is still abhorrent to me. Whenever I bring this up with Christians they point to Jesus. Bah have they read revelations - how many times does god go from psychopathic to kind and loving, back to psychopathic?

Yeah, I can only see a lot of Christianity-bashing resulting from it... Definitely, I'm amazed at the amount of people who actually believe Jihad is one of the foundations of Islam, as well as the bizarre double standards people use when considering the issue of violence in religion (c.a.d. Christianity is peaceful because most Christians preach peace, yet Islam supports the use of violence because it is mentioned in the Quran - a different criteria used when examining each religion). I'm equally amazed that in 6 years of religion teaching, it's almost entirely been focused on Christianity. If you're going to teach religion in a secular education system, why would you feel compelled to favour any religion so greatly?

It's beyond me why someone would try to use that as an argument for god. I think desperation makes people to use the most ridiculous arguments. If it backs them up - no matter what it is - they will use it.

Today I watched 'The big question', unfortunately like usual there was some technical issues. However there was a very interesting discussion on whether Islam should have more positive PR. Now I hate it when Muslims use the word "beautiful" in every sentence. That aside, I do think people should be more educated about Islam. However I think it would be good if it wasn't left to the Islamophodes and the the biased Muslim community. Who can never agree with each other anyway. Rather I think a neutral education on Islam is something very much needed. Your opinion on this? I was thinking of maybe putting up a thread for this - however I worry what it may turn into
