Where I live it's kinda poshish, but on the edge of scum :P I'm in the town centre so it's mega busy and it's got loads of every type of person around. It's not homophobic here, we just had gay pride a week ago

Are you in the US or UK? I'd like to get a qualification in Japanese as well, if I get good enough at it The numbers confused me for ages, but I just wrote them out a few times and now I remember them I got mine from waterstones. It's called Japanese in 10 Minutes a day. I don't know who it's by but I think it's by Bilingual Books. or something. It was £16.99. It was a bit expensive, but I wanted a learning book, rather than a phrase book. I've only been through a few pages in it, but it's real easy to learn from.

If you like pop, you might want to give some idol groups a listne - Morning Musume, AKB48, that sort of thing. Or Maybe Anna Tsuchiya, BoA, Utada Hikaru, Koda Kumi etc. An Cafe, Alice Nine, Ayabie and bands like that are like pop-rock (and absolutely beautiful).
My parents got me a phrase book for christmas, and I read that whenever I'm bored xD I could start a conversation, but not maintain one And I can count to five, but I keep missing out five "ichi, ni, san, go... what happened to four?"
