I originally just thought to sign my 15 year old son up when I heard about it, so he could discuss teen issues with peers. We have a great relationship and he feels comfortable about talking to me about most anything (including physical changes to his body during puberty), but there may come subjects that he's not as comfortable talking about. That's where this site comes in. Then I noticed that there are young mothers and single mothers on here. I thought that I could maybe help others going through situations I've been through like being a single mon with no help from the father, having an unplanned pregnancy, and sexual abuse by a guy I thought I loved. I'm pretty open-minded and nonjudgmental for a parent, Lol. I thought that might help out with those on here whose parents or guardians may not be as open-minded, non-judgmental, accepting, or understanding. I do not let decisions I've made for my life (such as being a strong Christian and straight) affect the help or advice I give others or who I'm willing to give it to. I've offered advice to several people even though we didn't share similar life choices. To me, that's what being a Christian and an Episcopalian is about. My churches have always taught me not to judge others, for the way I judge others is the way I will be judged by God. Also, I've been taught not to force my beliefs or opinions on others. If you want others to have a good impression of Christians and possibly be drawn to the church, you must act like one.

Hello. Welcome to TeenHelp! I just thought I'd stop by and say hello, since I saw you were new here and hadn't been welcomed to TH properly yet. Maybe you should go post a thread in the Arrivals and Departures forum so everyone gets a chance to say hello. I'm a Buddy here and TH, so, if you ever need help or anything, feel free to VM or PM me.

Have a good New Years Eve, and if it's already 2010 where you are... have a great year!
