Well, the thyroid is a gland in your throat that helps you grow and maintain body heat. Mine doesn't work right so I have trouble growing and maintaining my body heat. I take medication to help me grow (which is why I'm 5ft 7in) but I'm cold all the time! So they need to check my blood to make sure I'm getting the right dosage of my medication.

Because I have Hypothyroidism. I get it checked twice a year. But I don't mind it, the nurses are always really nice!
