It looks like a good subject but we'll see. OU says you can take up to 16 years to do it. I saw that and was like "Hell no." I'm aiming for 3-5 years and hopefully I can get some work experience in and volunteer with The Samaritans or something. There's an office not too far from here.

I imagine it'd be pretty hellish on a phone, especially if you have multiple calls going at once. Better waiting until you have a bigger screen. And a mouse.

Ahhhh at least you're with family, though. I'm sure they really appreciate the extra help.
And if it makes you feel any better, I did placement experience in a care home. My first day I was told to keep back from one of the residents because he did like young girls (not maliciously it could just be a little creepy at times) and would often swipe at people with his remaining arm. So I stayed away from him all day and was just about to leave when one of the nurses called me into his room where they were changing his pad (all the residents had one "just in case") and they actually said "Oh just stand at the end of the bed and watch to make sure all his.. y'know bits, land on the pad. Thanks! " Was terrifying at the time but it's a good way to make people smile now.

Yeah, and I was relatively pleased because I hadn't been doing anything wrong .

I may get funding. It took SAAS three weeks to tell me I needed to send more stuff to them, and if I don't have it by September 6th I might lose my place. Meanwhile OU thinks I've already got it and emailed me to thank me for the payment. I'm doing an Open Degree in Psychology. I basically get to do 12 modules, each with 30 credits (I think some are 60 though) until I get 360 overall. Then I have a degree. But I get to choose what I study and when so it's not all mapped out for me, hence "Open" Degree. Looks pretty good, I can't wait to get started!

LH on a phone sucks. Or it did on the old system, I called in once and it was a nightmare. For more than one reason I can't discuss here. Editor would be good for you, though. You're really articulate and I've seen what you've written before.

I'm doing good - I'm On Leave because there's no way I'm doing LH on a phone, and I was away from my laptop for a bit. I'll be teal again soon (although when it opens, I think I might go for Editor), but even with a reliable connection back, I don't want to commit 5-10 hours when I'm looking after two elderly and one disabled people.
