I came across something along the lines of this today:
Imagine a crisp, uncrumpled ten pound note, never having changed hands and in pristine condition. To you, to me, to anybody its value is simply ten pounds. Imagine sealing that note in a watertight container and dropping it in to the middle of a deep lake. It still has an intrinsic value of ten pounds, but in order to retrieve it you’d need a boat, equipment, logical thinking and divers. That would cost you far more than ten pounds.
So, at the bottom of a lake, this crisp, uncrumpled, unchanged ten pound note is worth less than nothing.
I guess what the writer was trying to imply was that even when we’re in the deepest, darkest and more despairing places in our life, at rock bottom, we are still the same person, still worthy and capable of doing amazing things. It might take a lot to turn our lives around and find our way back up but it is still possible.
Never give up, you have the capacity to be the person you always wanted to be.
