    Lol, fair enough.
    Yay! I'll go look now.

    Ah, that's okay.

I like to think I am too, but I'm too modest to say I am.

The secularism appeals to me the most. Where do I sign up?

    Oh, really? That's cool.
I'll be honest, I don't like many of the people in my class. I don't really fit in at school, to say at the least.

    Will do!

My school is very divided. We have top and bottom sets as well, and it's usually wealthy students who get into the top class. (I'm in the top set for all academic subjects, and I'm the only person from my side of town in all my classes. :P) Wealthy students hang around with each other and less wealthier students do the same, but I think that's because most of them come from the same areas, went to the same primary schools and so on.

The care homes here are horrendous.

I don't discriminate against people because of their backgrounds, but I believe the discrimination is there, and comes from both sides. Rich kids look down on poor kids, poor kids sneer at rich kids.

On a lighter note, I'm at the amusement arcade, and I just won a load of sweets on the candy dropper. Want a lollipop?

Good point, but she didn't really have a great quality of life in the care home when she was there. I guess it suited her better at home.

Aha. I didn't go to my school for the religion, it has better academic standards than the other public schools in the city.
The people who go to my school are from very mixed backgrounds. Some are very rich, but there's a massive council estate behind the school as well, and the students from there get right of entry. I'm from a disadvantaged area myself, so I don't have anything against people from the estate, but some of them are quite unpleasant, to say at the least.

Ah, cool! I designed a website for my student enterprise project, so I know a bit about that.

Oh, I see. My great-grandmother was a bit like that. She refused any help we offered her, and she really needed it. She was suffering while she was still alive. One thing I was happy with is that she died at her own home, rather than behind the doors of a care centre.

Our trip to London was an educational trip. We visited science-y stuff, like the Centre of the Cell and the Science Museum. We also explored the physics aspect behind Thorpe Park.
That could be it, but our school isn't funded very well either. I go to a Catholic school, and the religious schools here can't get most of the grants community schools get.

    Fair enough.
Not sure as of yet. I've done a bit of programming, and stuff with hardware as well. I think I'd like to be a software developer.

Ah, my grandparents are a bit younger than yours. My great-grandmother was still alive until last year, and she was in her 90's. She was in a care home for a while, but she was being looked after by my aunt at the time she died.

My school doesn't have that many trips abroad compared to other schools. Students from another school in town are going to Turkey next week, or so I heard. I'm jealous.

Ah! I can't see myself becoming a barrister. It's computer science for me.

    I want chocolate strawberries now!
Ah, I see my grandparents a lot as well. I get what you mean about seeing them deteriorating more and more. :/
The only time we've gone on a trip abroad for school was that time to England. We never do anything that exciting on the other trips.

    Woo!

Ah, I've been on a few school-organised trips. The only time I went to London was on a school-organised trip, actually.
That's about the most interesting one though, the rest have been to random places around Ireland.

    About me
    Hi there!

I'm Adam (Adam the Fish, formerly Rachael98), and I like chocolate.

Also, I'm a Live Help Operator (since 08/10/12) here as well as being an Article Editor, a member of the Social Networking Team and a Forum Moderator for the Why Me? forum.
I've now been a member of TeenHelp for two years - it doesn't sound much when others have been around since around when I was born, but it's a fair milestone for me!

I've just finished school - looking forward to Sixth Form! - and I'm always around to talk. If you ever want a chat, to rant or someone to talk to, send me a visitor or private message. I always get back to them pretty quickly.

I realise that I'm incredibly bad at writing informative "About Me"s, so if you ever have any questions about what I'm going on about, ask me. I only bite if I'm incredibly hungry.

Being a generally helpful-ish person. Ish.
    Music
Personally, I sing...or did, until puberty started messing around with my voice. Now I have half-sing, and half-croak (RSCM VfL Red Level, Alto) and play:
    Piano (ABRSM G8)
    [Any other keyboard-related instrument]
    Ukulele
    Recorder
    Most things.

    I like many styles!
I enjoy Tim Minchin and Imagine Dragons among many artists.
    Movies
    Comedy, generally.

Johnny English is great, and Mrs. Doubtfire is also a must.
I enjoyed The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel a lot, too.
My Hunger Games obsession is also manifested in film form!

Finally, Donnie Darko. Who doesn't like psychology thrillers?
    Television
    Sherlock.

    I dislike television (mostly).

The most useful thing on there is BBC News.
Although I admit A Touch of Frost was excellent.
OK, and Miranda. And HIGNFY. And Watchdog. Plus TBBT. And QI. And New Tricks. But other than that...
    Games
The Sims 3 and SimCity. But OpenTTD is better. Also looking forward to TS4, if my poor old laptop is going to be up to it.
    ^^^ See, technology goes first.
    Monopoly.
And Contraband - quite an old game, but it involves cheating, lying and deception, so it's fun.

To family and friends, I'm notoriously bad at games; if there's a winner, and therefore a loser, I'm always the latter.

    Harry Potter.
    CHERUB/Henderson's Boys.
    Hunger Games.
    Divergent/Insurgent.

I might also find some more adult books at some point which I like as much as Harry Potter.
I do like Minette Walters a lot.
