Hi,

I don't know if this is the right spot but this has been a bit of an issue for me a few times now.

If I make a blog entry and put the settings as no comments allowed, blog moderators still comment and I'm not sure if that's because they can't see what I made my settings or they're ignoring it and not honoring what my settings are.

Another thing is moderating comments setting. Again, I make this setting and see a comment went through without me getting a chance to use the feature of approving the comment.

I'm not here to offend anyone. Staff here volunteer their time to benefit people on the site and I appreciate all you so. I'm just wondering if maybe on the moderators' end if the distinction isn't as clear to them because as moderators they have a different page layout and the algorithm doesn't stop them from commenting and doesn't even mention like hey this user said no comments etc

It is really frustrating because when I post an entry I sometimes write about something very personal and I'm not ready to hear comments. It is a preference to prevent certain triggers from dysregulating me.

I mean I'm going to start prefacing "please don't comment even if you're a mod"

Another thing is, what is the purpose of allowing mods to overrule a users' blog settings when the comments have nothing to do with actually moderating?

Hello, thank you for raising this. I have updated the settings on the Blogs so that now Moderators cannot make comments on blog entries where comments have been disabled. They will still be able to see private entries as they need this to be able to do their roles. Additionally private entries are now marked more prominently so that users & Moderators can be aware of this before posting comments.
