Re: Is it okay to go to the gym like this?

Hi there!

I agree that it's best to wear something that is comfortable, especially when you go to the gym and not because you feel pressured by your friends to do so because they are.

It's important to remember that while you are at the gym, you are there to work out and not be exposing yourself too much for others to see as you don't know the intentions of others.

I hope this helped.

Re: Is it okay to go to the gym like this?

Hi, I hope you are doing well. When you are going to workout at the gym you always want to have on clothes that you like to workout in and still dress your age. When workingout you want to just workout and not worry about what other people are thinking.

In fact, too much emphasis is placed on what other people look like. Wear what you like. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable, both for your body and your psyche.

Your mother is right. This is not gym attire one bit. That's great your friends do that, but they're exposing themselves (again figuratively and literally) to people that would wish to do nothing but harm upon them. I'm by no means criticizing your freedom of expression, but teenagers these days really don't seem to care how they dress and what sort of people that'll come across them.

Sports bras would fit differently and would not expose as much cleavage. What you're demonstrating does not indicate that it'll offer support when you're doing cardio or weight lifting. You need appropriately fitted clothes that offers support to the breasts rather than draw attention to it.

Your mother is absolutely not a prude. She is right, she is concerned about you, as mothers should be when their daughters go out dressing a certain way.

My mom made a big deal about it when I went to the gym dressed like that. I understand her somewhat, but all my friends also dress like that to the gym. She's always been a prude, so I'm not sure what to believe. She says at least wait until I'm 18, but I think that's unreasonable.
