Re: When should I go to the doctor for lightheadedness?

Hi there, been a few weeks since you created this thread and I hope you were able to seek medical support from your primary care. If not, then I would reach out to them with everything you described here. The more detail you give to your doctor, then they'll come up with a better diagnosis and come up with a plan for treatment or refer you the appropriate specialist for further diagnosis and treatment.

Wishing you the best of luck!

Re: When should I go to the doctor for lightheadedness?

To me that seems concerning. It would be less bad if it was a once in a while thing but it seems like this is something that is happening to you regularly and it sounds like it’s impacting your daily life. I don’t have any ideas on why this could be happening but to me it doesn’t seem normal that it’s happening over regular activities like that. I’d get this checked out!

When should I go to the doctor for lightheadedness?

Hi, so I was wondering when I (16f) should go to the doctor for lightheadedness and dizziness. I've had issues with lightheadedness for a few years at this point but it wasn't all that noticeable, I kinda assumed it was because at the time I still went to the gym and stuff so I thought maybe it was just that I was dehydrated or overworking myself.
But these past few months (probably 8 or 9 months at this point) I've been getting dizzy and lightheaded over everything. For example: whenever I laugh (albeit I mean REALLY laugh, not like a fake laugh) I end up getting super lightheaded to the point where my vision goes spotty and I feel like I'm gonna pass out. Walking up and down stairs makes me really dizzy too, to the point where I have to watch and count to make sure I'm not missing a step (like left, right, left, right, left, right, etc..) I always hold onto the railing thought but it gets really bad if there are people behind me since i feel like i have to rush
Standing also sucks, i know this is common but standing makes me really lightheaded if I go from sitting to standing. Turning over in bed sucks, that also makes me super lightheaded, and even walking for long periods of time makes me super lightheaded.
I just want to know if this is normal or if i should go to the doctor. I'm overweight so maybe that's why, but the thing is I've tried to exercise to lose weight and it makes me dizzy and lightheaded to the point where I feel like I'm gonna pass out. But then when i tell people that they call me dramatic so idk?
Id also like to add I do drink enough water. I actually drink quite a bit, because ice water is one of my favorite drinks so I don't think its dehydration.
Any answers are appreciated though. I just wanna save a doctors appointment as a last-resort since my family doesnt like taking us to the doctors
