A girl in my class was talking to me today and she told me that she hasn't had a period for 8 months.
And she said that she's taken a pregnancy test and is showing absolutely no signs of being pregnant. She told me the only method of contraception she uses is the condom with her boyfriend.
She said that she has no memory of having her period in the summer, so she last had one in early spring and she'd be having a baby by now if she was pregnant.
She said that she's been trying to ring the doctors for a while, but they've got some stupid approach to getting appointments and it's really awkward for her to get one.
I kind of want to give her some comfort really. She's worried that she won't be able to have children cos that'll really devastate her, especially as she works with kids. She's 17 by the way.
So, has this happened to anyone before? Or has anyone heard of it? I'm not asking for you to diagnose her, but I'm just wondering if there are other people out there that have had this problem and what it resulted in.
