I Have a Dream (About LGBT issues) -

Hey guys. Today my teacher gave us the assignment to do a speech on something we were passionate about. We had to do it in a similar form as Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech. I picked the topic of LGBT issues. Could you please read it and tell me how you like it? I'm satisfied as to how it came out. I put it as triggering due to mentions of bullying and suicide.
I have a dream that one day people will recognize love for what it is. Love knows no face or gender. Everyone has the right to love freely. It will never matter who you are. Someday people will see that it is better to love than to hate.
I have a dream that one day soldiers returning from the cruel war will not be afraid to embrace the one they love. Someday those outside of the military will realize loving the same gender will not take away from a person’s love for their country. These are the men and women fighting for us, dying for us, giving all for us and the least we can do is give them respect.
I have a dream that one day little girls and boys will be able to look to their friends and be able to freely say they have two mommies or daddies without fear. Someday people will realize “gay” is not a disease that can be passed on to a child. A child needs love and attention. With all the pain, abuse, and sadness in this world, who is to say that these children won’t get this love from two mothers or fathers? A child should not be denied the right of love due to the fact the only people that may be willing to adopt him are homosexuals.
I have a dream that one day gay teens won’t have to live in fear. They are constantly tormented, beaten down and rejected because of who they love. Parents disown their children or refuse to believe the truth. Lives are ended on a cloudy day. Acceptance could have saved them.
I have a dream that one day, people; both gay and straight can finally stand hand in hand with each other and stop the madness. I dream of a day where pride flags fly and people finally learn to love one another equally. One day, this wold will be safe for all because we are finally starting to see that two men or two women walking hand in hand down a busy sidewalk is not the end of the world, that two people of the same sex saying “we are married” won’t throw the world off its axis.
I have a dream that one day, everyone will have an equal voice.
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive
