I was about 12 I think and by the time I realised, the blood was dry and had gone brown. I thought it was... something else. >.>
So I went through and showed mum and she was like "Oh, no that's just your period. I have a makeup bag with some pads ready for you in the cupboard." 
I had no cramps until last year, though. Then they started bad and leave me curled up in bed with a hot water bottle all day. 
Throw those curtains wide
One day like this a year would see me right
