Re: Your Religious and/or Spiritual Beliefs Version III - February 20th 2009, 06:04 AM

I'm still trying to figure out where I fit in everything. The way I see religion is that whatever path you choose is the one that's right for you in this life. Whether you see it as one God or many gods, as long as you connect with the divine in some way that makes sense and feels right to you. I probably would say that I fall under the umbrella of pagan religions (and therefore polytheistic), though I'm not exactly sure where I fall there as I kind of feel like I'm mixing pantheons for some things (for example, I'll talk to Brighid for one thing and Kuan Yin for another). I do believe in past lives, spirit guides/guardian angels/totem animals, chakras and energy work (i.e. crystals), and general metaphysical things. It's taken me a really long time to figure all this out as religion in some form or another has always played a big part in my life. I started to explore other religions (including paganism) in middle school when I started to really realize that Catholicism just didn't sit right with me. Nothing against those that find it a fulfilling spirituality, but I just felt too distant. What I follow now just feels right. I meditate. I should more often, because everything makes more sense when I do. I know myself better, I feel closer to whoever is "up there" (though to me, it's more of an all around us kind of thing). I don't know, it's hard to really put into words. I'm still learning, still discovering, still figuring it out, but there you have it.

So in a nutshell, pagan, undecided, other. ^_^
