I just got my first tattoo last Wednesday and I love it! I hadn't planned to get it that day, I just went in to get a price quote, but they guy said he could get me in right then. I was SO nervous because I usually pass out when I see blood or needles and I didn't have anyone with me to keep me distracted. And the guy wouldn't let me lay down for it! I was fine though. It hurt. Alot. But I stayed conscious the entire time--yay! lol.
I had a very specific design in mind since I was 15 (i'm 20 now), and they couldn't do my exact design but I'm happy with what I got. Basically what I wanted was a butterfly tangled up in barbed wire with frayed wings, just on the inside of my wrist. And what I wound up getting was a butterfly with frayed wings with a curly black line going around my entire wrist with stars around it. The main thing I really wanted was the butterfly with frayed wings part. Because it reminds me of myself--I'm a little broken on the outside, but I can still fly. (Corny, I know. :P)
And it was kind of funny, 2 days after that I had to go to the doctor to get my blood drawn and the whole tattoo experience completely disolved my fear of needles! I didn't even feel it this time, when normally I pass out (and usually more than once!).
Anyways, onto the pics! Ignore the fact that my wrist looks huge. It swelled up alot for the first 24 hours.
