I'm sorry to hear about what happened between you and your mother.
However, if art is what makes you happy and is something that you enjoy doing, please don't quit. It can be hard when someone you care about critiques your artwork but that shouldn't mean you should stop doing it. Keep going and I am sure your artworks are already amazing!
