Hey,

I'm sorry this happened to you. It's not your fault that you possibly have these diagnoses. There are are a lot of different factors that contribute, but none of it is caused by you. I hope that knowing that you may have this diagnosis allows you to seek treatment and support both in school and in your personal life.

If you're not feeling shitty in the moment (such as at your psychiatrist appointment), then it makes sense that you're not going to shut down or act depressed. I'd 100% get triggered if someone started yelling at me about something like this, or in general really. Try your best to be honest and open with how you are feeling when you DO see your psychiatrist of course.

Can you ask your mom if there is another way she can communicate besides yelling? Let her know you want to be receptive to what she has to say but yelling can cause you to shut down. Maybe you can suggest a healthier way for her to communicate with you.

Best of luck,
Dez
