Descended to 1.25 mg clonazepam - November 20th 2024, 11:49 AM

I am overjoyed. I have been on 2-3mg klonopin for years. I have been tapering myself. I am now down to 1.25mg/daily. It is still a formidable dose but I can feel the progress. When I was at 1.75 I felt like I wasnt going anywhere. Today was the first day I felt normal on this reduced dose and I finally feel that I will be able to get off these without yet another seizure and without inpatient detox. It will still take a taper for me as I am prone to withdrawal symptoms but I love the feeling of progress.

In my opinion, benzos should never be prescribed long term for anxiety-except in very rare cases where a person has not responded to anything else AND is one of the lucky people who don't simply develop a tolerance and dependence with no gain. For tbe rest of the 90 percent of people?: they lose their effectiveness and then you are at a much worse place and at that point many doctors don't care. Benzos suck except when used for extreme panic or a random seizure.
