Underactive thyroid - July 27th 2024, 08:38 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

Recently I've been gaining weight when I don't eat a lot and I exercise 4/5 times a week (sometimes more), so I went and saw my doctor. After getting a blood test done, it came back that my thyroid is underactive as well as being insulin resistant. In two weeks, I have to go and get another blood test done to confirm if it is an underactive thyroid or if it was just a once off that my levels were not normal. Basically it appeared that I had some sort of infection in my system (which was surprising, considering that I've been feeling OK and not sick at all) which is why my doctor wants to wait, but after doing some research online, some of the symptoms I have been experiencing have been an indicator that it is my thyroid.
My question is, does anyone else experience an underactive thyroid? Or overactive one? What were your symptoms?
