Hey,

It's great that you want to help your girlfriend out!

I don't think you have to do anything extravagant for her, like buying her an expensive present or anything like that, but acts of kindness can go a long way. For example, if you find out her favorite dessert you can bake it for her as a surprise. If you're creative at all, you can write her a poem or story, create art for her, or make music for her. I know this isn't always possible due to funds or transportation but you can also take her somewhere like out to lunch/dinner, bowling, mini golf, or another activity you two can do together. Or you can even just have a move day/night, where you marathon some movies that both of you would enjoy. Netflix has a ton! Basically, try doing some of the simple things that you think she'd enjoy in order to lift her spirits a little bit. Those small things add up and show that you care about her.

I think it's also important to let her know that you're there for her if she ever needs it. You can say that you're super glad that she's better now, but you just wanted her to know that if anything ever does happen or she feels down, she can come talk to you and you won't judge her or get upset. Knowing she has someone in her corner that will listen to her when things get rough can go a long way.

Some things you may notice if things are getting tough may be isolation, irritability, crying more easily, losing interest in things she used to enjoy, a change in appetite (you notice her eating more or less than usual), taking care of her hygiene less, or having a difficult time at work or school (depending on your ages). They don't automatically mean she's depressed, but if you notice changes in her mood or behavior you can bring it up to her and let her know you're concerned.

I hope this helps!
