My best guess is that you're throwing a tantrum like you've done my whole life, coming up with some bullshit story about how you're a victim instead of being an adult and contacting me like you've done on every single holiday for (again) my whole life. Being a parent/adult means showing up for your kid regardless of how you currently feel. I'm not sorry you're upset. This was a direct result of your behavior over decades and a refusal to respond when confronted. I'm not sorry for having and holding boundaries, but I didn't expect it to still hurt. I've gone from "wondering" if you'll do what you've always done, to facing the reality that you won't. And now I have to decide what that means.
