Re: World Mental Health Day 2022 - October 23rd 2022, 04:51 AM

This is really interesting! (Also interesting to note - after reading this I did some Google searching about how much rest people need, and all the results seemed to equate rest with sleep... no wonder so many of us didn't realise there were different types of rest then. ) For me I think it's often not so much about needing more rest as it is needing to rest at the right time. I have a habit of withdrawing and overworking and just generally not having a good balance, and sometimes I misinterpret what my body/mind is telling me so I end up doing the opposite of what I need - avoiding people when what I really need is to be social for a bit, trying to get my brain to be quiet when it actually needs a solid workout, etc. So this thread has prompted me to be more mindful of whether I need rest or stimulation rather than just making assumptions. Thanks for sharing, and I hope it's inspired others to do some self-reflection as well!
