While we can't give explicit sexual advice, I think that the best thing to do would be to discuss this with him. There's no shame in seeing what he likes and dislikes, and trying some of the things he comes up with. Asking what he likes doesn't mean that you're bad at sex or that you don't know what you're doing. It shows that you care! For example, what positions did his ex boyfriend do that he liked so much? Did his ex boyfriend do anything he didn't like?
You can also ask if it's okay to experiment with him (with his consent) to try new positions (or even toys).

Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive
