I might be blacklisted - July 22nd 2022, 06:48 AM

I quit my job without notice, which by company policy says I'm now permanently a non-rehire. I'm fine with that. I stand by the fact that this is one of the rare circumstances where doing so was entirely justified, and if that is a consequence, I can accept it.

The problem is that I've since had 3 interviews where I was almost hired on the spot, or led to believe an offer was coming, only to be ghosted, which is a major sign your previous employer is giving you a bad reference. No, they're not supposed to do that, and depending on where you live, it might be illegal.

I can't prove it, but considering I was admittedly one of their best employees and this has happened 3 times in as many weeks, one of them being practically the same job I had with a different company during which the manager was already talking about promoting me, I'm extremely suspicious.

Like I said, if I can never work for the company again because I quit without notice, I can live with that. But the manager who screwed me multiple times, and deserved to be quit on without notice apparently hates me so much, she's going to keep me from getting another job anywhere. I'm going to answer "no" to the "May we contact this employer?" on my applications from now on, give my references a heads up, and hopefully that helps until this b***h is fired or leaves the company. I'm just lucky I realized it so soon.
