Noise-reducing earmuffs - May 19th 2022, 08:35 AM

Hi all!

I suffer from misophonia, which means I am getting very irritated or angry when exposed to certain sounds. I have recently moved to a post-industrial urban neighbourhood with a noisy street and a very noisy junkyard next to my apartment. I regret choosing this apartment and will try to move, but I don't know if it will be possible anytime soon.

I work remotely - the noises make me unable to concentrate on work during the day and to fall asleep in the night. I was thinking about getting a pair of noise-reducing headphones/earmuffs. After a bit of research I know there are a few types: for office work, for construction sites, for sleeping. I'm afraid the first and third types won't be enough to muffle the sounds. Maybe the ones meant for construction site workers?

I would like to know if you have had a similar issue or perhaps used this kind of earmuffs. What's your experience? Would you recommend them?
