Theoretically, there should be no wrong way to write fan-fiction.

I've been doing so — on and off — since 2003. Archive of Our Own would be the best place to share a story-telling narrative — fan-fiction — that relates to a video game. They have the appropriate category for it. Fanfction.Net, on the other hand, does not.

If you are concerned with how you write, if the story is not coming across clearly, have questions about your plot, or anything else for that matter, then I suggest reaching out for a beta reader/writer. This particular individual can give you feedback, from grammar nit-picking to plot nit-picking.

But fan-fiction, as a whole, is based on how you — the author — see a storyline being told with already pre-existing characters. There's no right or wrong way to write fanfiction. Just be sure you keep everyone in character, true to how the creators formulated them.

Again, theoretically, there should be no wrong way to write fan-fction; so you write however you want!
