Re: Missed Period...Do I tell my ex? - July 27th 2020, 08:49 AM

Hi there,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us here on TeenHelp. I'm so sorry that you're having a confusing time with this. But remember that you'll get a clearer picture very soon

I agree with Dez and second what they said about taking a test again. If you want professional opinion on which sort of test might be ideal in your situation (which requires urgent testing), you might want to visit your GP.

Regarding what to say to your ex-boyfriend in the event the test comes out positive, I understand how nerve-racking it can get, but perhaps the best way to tell him is to meet him in person and talk. Like you said, his reaction might not be the friendliest, but he will have to come around to it.

It is a very overwhelming scenario, so take it one step at a time. First, get a test to confirm your status. If it turns out to be negative, then all's well and good. If not, you might want to think of some options on what you wish to do regarding the baby (e.g. do you plan to have it/not, etc.). Then contact your ex and tell him that you have something to speak to him about, and tell him everything. You might also wish to discuss the options you have thought about. I can imagine what a testing time this is, but let's take it step by step.

First, let's be hopeful that the test comes out negative. And like Dez said, if you've been taking birth control diligently, you shouldn't have too much to worry about.

Take care, and do update us!
