Sociology project: children's book in poem form. -

Hi all,
For a Sociology project I have to write a children's book (targeted or 6-8 years) on a topic and I was assigned same sex marriage/relationships. I decided to write my book in poem form and I'd like to share it with you all. The separations indicate the next page (there's five pages).
Any suggestions for illustrations? I have a few ideas (they have to be hand drawn, no Google).
Sometimes love is hard to find
It is not all black and white
We know that all love is kind
We believe it with our might
Everyone can find it, though
Everyone from me to you
Something important to know
is same sex people can love too.
Love is a feeling in your heart
Something that feels so true
A fuzzy feeling is a place to start
It takes away the blues
Love can grace anyone's soul
No matter what sex they are
Who we love isn't in our control
It's not something we choose by far
Think of the love you've felt before
don't you want others to feel it, too?
So when love knocks on your door
It chooses someone just for you
Whether a woman and a woman, man and a man,
They deserve to be united
To walk hand in hand
With their love completely ignited.
When people love intensely
They may wear a ring
That means they feel immensely
about a beautiful thing
They can share their love for all to see
They can share it with whomever
Their happiness is meant to be
As long as they're together
Sometimes love is hard to find
Everyone can feel it from me to you
We know that all love is kind;
Same sex people can love too
Love can grace any soul:
A woman and woman, a man and man
Who we love is out of our control
but we all deserve to walk hand in hand
and wear a sparkly ring
to show our love which is
a beautiful thing.
If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?
Years of tearing down our banners, you and I
Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts
Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first
The axe forgets, but the tree remembers
