Unhappy Police Refusing to Investigate Rape - June 15th 2016, 07:24 PM

Hi.

Over the past 3 months, the police have been investigating my rape on and off. Today I have been told that there is nothing further they can do. The detective heading up the case told me that, should nothing be gleaned from the first interviews and photo identification, they would repeat the process. He has now gone back on his word and says that there is nothing more anyone can do, which to me sounds an awful lot like 'We won't do anything' as opposed to 'We can't do anything'. That detective gave me false hope (he went so far as to state that if the potential suspects refused the second interview/photo ID, they would be arrested). I find it highly unprofessional and I'm just so angry/terrified knowing that my rapist is out there knowing full well what he's done to me but with no consequences for his actions. To top it all off, my therapist is no longer seeing me as she doesn't think it's beneficial and my parents are being unsupportive.

Sorry for the rant, guys. Any advice or support would be greatly appreciated.

Have a good day
