I'm proof that the cliches aren't true so please stop saying them. Hard work doesn't always mean your dreams come true, sometimes you work harder than everyone else and still get your worst nightmare instead. I know why "there's no wrong way" in the profession. Those who do it "wrong" don't exist in it because they get treated like crap and then thrown out.
I never blamed you, you didn't have a choice, but neither did I and if you think my life has been a cakewalk since you couldn't be more wrong. I get to struggle through life just to lose everything I could ever want.
"If we're treating you so bad, why don't you just quit?"
1. Because I've spent my entire LIFE being mistreated and abused by people because of the way I was born. If I gave up every time that happened, I wouldn't exist anymore
2. I finally found something I was willing to fight for, I wasn't going to let you take it away from me without one
3. If you're going to brag about your decades worth of training in treating people with tact and empathy and respect, you shouldn't be treating anyone like this. It's not just me
4. The students you've trained are turning out the same way and it's making me sick.
5. You were abusive and what you did was WRONG and has left me with pervasive emotional damage. ADMIT IT, OWN IT, and STOP IT! I want to be the last one you do this to
Hiring or retaining people who all do things the same way cheats you out of the types of valuable learning experiences that come from working with someone who is, thinks, and works differently. In a world, profession, and organization that claims to value diversity, I find the fact that you do this somewhat ironic; at the same time it makes sense though because different is uncomfortable and inconvenient which makes it a lot easier not to bother.
Another stranger blocked on account of IGNORANCE. Until you've walked in his shoes you have NO RIGHT to judge like that. I should want to educate you, but I don't. It's amazing what people will post behind the anonymity of a keyboard even with their name and picture attached.
