It is probably related to taking birth control and stopping, but I would contact your doctor. Did you consult your doctor before stopping the birth control? They could have probably switched you onto another one if that one was causing weight gain (although most weight gain on birth control is not related to the birth control but related to correlational factors such as age that somebody begins taking birth control; for example, you're 16, and most people gain weight at that age anyway because you're growing.  )
