I would find it weird, mostly if it was a girl with my mum's name. Her name was so much more common in the 50s and 60s, not so much after that. Plus, it became more unisex in the 70s. I wouldn't date a guy with the name my mum has. My dad has a common name, but like someone else said, if I dated someone who shared the same name, I'd find a nickname or a shortened form of his name. I'd date a girl with the feminine variant of my dad's name. But that was more common in the 1800s and early 1900s, not so much after 1940.
