Hey,

Honestly, what I had to do was go to other people for support when I realized my parents would be no help. It really sucks to have to do that, but you don't deserve to go through this alone.

Take teachers, guidance counselors, coaches, and club advisors for example. While they are mandatory reporters, you can explain that your parents are not accepting. They may be able to help you change their views, and at least then they would be finding out in a safe, mediated area. That way, you know that at least you will have someone else to help you out, and you still have their support through this regardless.

You can also tell another family member who you trust and ask them to help you talk to them, if you think that'll work.

Or, maybe when you go and confront your father, perhaps you can print out information about self harm so he knows what it really is about?

I hope it all goes okay!
