I got this off of webmd:

Increased pain, swelling, redness, or warmth around the affected area.
Red streaks extending from the affected area.
Drainage of pus from the area.

Honestly, if you think your wound might be infected you should probably go to the doctor and get it checked out just to be safe. You don't want the, possible, infection to get out of control and lead to something more serious. A doctor will be able to look at the wound and tell if it is infected and prescribe an antibiotic to help treat it.
