A Poem? - September 7th 2014, 04:16 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

I'm throwing a triggering tag on this cuz it probably is. During one of my bouts of extreme insomnia, I was thinking about the past at around 4:30 a.m., and I found myself writing. Here's the result:

Tired eyes, and sunshine,
We followed the moon away from mankind,
Our heads in the stars and our eyes far too blind
to see the ground bellow.

Bloody Knees and bruised hips,
we sailed away in our ships,
taking long acid trips,
our eyes cloudy and our faces muddy,
too distracted to know we were lost.

Bright eyes and dim thoughts,
we drowned ourselves with pills and shots
thinking we were immune to sickness or blood clots,
but still unsafe from the future.

"They say home is where the heart is, but what a shame, cause everyone's heart doesn't beat the same."

-Jesus of Suburbia
