Re: Religion: What Were You Raised As? - April 13th 2009, 07:50 PM

1. I was raised Roman Catholic, but not for very long. I was baptized and sent to Catholic school until about grade 2. Around the time my mother's friends started saying they'd been molested by priests when they were younger, my mom lost faith in the Church and we stopped going. My mom still believed in God (I think), but she didn't bring us up at all religiously. We stopped going to Catholic school for two reasons: a) we moved and the new school wouldn't allow us to register because my mom had gone through a nasty separation and my father had our baptism certificates and b) she decided not to fight that, as the previous school we'd gone to mistreated me for being left handed, despite her objections.

2. I'm a Satanist. I don't believe there is a God, I don't believe there's an afterlife. I still enjoy learning about religions, living and dead, but I don't believe in anything. I believe this life is all we have, and that we should thus enjoy it as much as possible.

Not around so much now that school's started

"Live a good life.
If there are gods and they are just,
then they will not care how devout you have been,
but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by.
If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them.
If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life
that will live on in the memories of your loved ones."
Marcus Aurelius
